About Crans-Montana

Crans-Montana is the panoramic vantage point of the Alps, with views stretching from the Simplon Pass to Mont Blanc. Perched on a plateau at the heart of the Alps, at an elevation of 1,500 metres above sea level, the resort rises to its highest point among the eternal snow at the foot of the Plaine Morte glacier at 3,000 metres. A small mountain village set on a plateau studded with small lakes at the foot of a ski area boasting 140km of slopes, Crans-Montana – with its Mediterranean character – lies on the sunniest side of the valley, near the source of the river Rhone.

You will visit in Crans-Montana during the winter season (December to April). We recommend you to bring warm clothes (cap, coat, gloves, etc.) and shoes. So, you will enjoy our magical environment!

Situated at the heart of the Alps, the holiday destination of Crans-Montana is easily accessible from all directions.

By plane (Airports > Crans-Montana)

By car
Take the A9 motorway to Sierre, then head towards Crans-Montana (15km)
Over the Forclaz, Simplon and Morgins mountain passes and through the Great St Bernard tunnel
By car shuttle train through the Lötschberg BLS (Kandersteg-Goppenstein) and Simplon (Brig-Iselle) tunnels.

By train
Switzerland: Direct connections from Basel, Bern, Geneva/airport, Lausanne and Zurich/airport to Sierre or Sion
Europe: High-speed connections to the entire European network via Milan or Paris (TGV Lyria) to Sierre or Sion

Important information
Last connections to Crans-Montana:
- From Sion > 19:10 (bus)
- From Sierre > 22:15 (bus or funicular)

If your flight arrives later than 18:00 in Zurich or Geneva on 22 March we advise you to stay the first night in either of these two cities and then to travel to Crans-Montana the following day 23 March.

At Sierre Station, the tourist office (located to the right-hand side as you exit the train station) will able to help you to find your connexion to Crans-Montana (from 08:00 to 18:00).
